When it comes to Standard Definition, Digibeta is still the best format available.

For many years it has been the workhorse for all Broadcast programmes as well as in Digital Cinematography.

The almost obsolete Betacam SP format, born in the 80's is still out there producing some high quality images in the analogue domain and amazingly still very popular in the US and in many ENG environments.

DV and the better DVCam / DVCPRO formats have revolutionised production standards and everybody is using them due to its low cost and compatibility.
Under good hands it can produce outstanding quality pictures.

HDV is introducing productions to the HD domain on a much lower resolution at a much cheaper cost.
